Home++ — I’m using the Home++ home replacement app, which adds the little white buttons on the bottom of the screen, so I have quicker access to my phone and the browser from anywhere on the home screen.

Beautiful Widgets — One of Android's strengths is its ability to display widgets, which are like little programs for your home screen. This one displays the time and weather for your location, determined via GPS. I love knowing the weather and I adore the design, so it stays on top.

Foursquare — Foursquare is kind of a game. Wherever you go, you can “check in,” which marks you on the server. If you check in the most at a certain location, you become the “mayor.” I, for instance, am the mayor of the McDonald’s on Broadway near Granville, and I’m very proud of that fact.

Goggles — Google’s visual search app is still in beta (so it’s not quite finished yet), but it’s definitely cool. If you take a picture of an item or its barcode, it will figure out what it is and bring up all the results on Google for it. If you don’t take a picture, it will use your GPS and compass to determine what you’re looking at, and will allow you to see the Google results for that location, such as restaurant reviews.

Listen — This is Google’s podcast application, since the built-in Android music player doesn’t support podcasts very well. This app does though, and allows you to search by title or interest. I never have to miss an episode of This American Life again!

Jewels — Like Pop Cap’s famous game Bejewelled? Get Jewels. The only difference is the name.
