Team Bonding

Hello Loyola sports fans … if you are a Chicagoan like myself, I know you are feeling embarrassed by the Bears’ performance this past Sunday. I am not the biggest football fan, but I love my city and anything affiliated with it, and that game was just sad! My teammate, sophomore Katie Kortekamp, is from Cincinnati and I know that win was great for her. It’s over now Katie, you all won! We had our first off day last Thursday; it was right on time because practice has been tough on the body! It’s not like it used to be. I’m getting older and so are my teammates. Before I begin, I would really like to thank those that came out to Midnight Madness. We truly appreciate the support and love that was shown that night. It was a lot of fun. We had our first official practice Saturday morning and it was pretty tough. Our practices so far have been very intense, but we get so much accomplished on the court in those three hours. The girls and I are feeling it though, so it is very likely you will...Midnight Madness approaching

I wrote a bit last year, and I truly enjoy giving Phoenix readers a little insight into my team. Things are different this year because we have a new coaching staff: LaToya Howell and Clare Bodensteiner are additions to our coaching staff. They both have experience at the Division I level; coach Howell played at Nebraska and coach Clare was at Stanford. Those are pretty big names in women’s basketball so it has been a pleasure to learn from them thus far. We’re so...
