Slapping Hitler moustaches on President Obama while comparing his methods to every fear-inciting political ideology, the temperamental lunatics lingering on the outskirts of campus make my day. But the LaRouche Political Action Committee and their ridiculous decries of government control to 9/11 conspiracies bring up a really good point: Never trust a radical without sources.

The debate that enshrouds environmental issues, from organics and free-range to human induced global warming, are simply ill-informed and biased ideals until a firm basis of credentials are stapled on. Here at Organic Ginger, I will be tackling some controversial issues on all things environmental. By strategically placing the column online, hyperlinks will take you directly to the source and allow everyone to look behind the magical curtain of climate science.

Knowledge is a powerful thing, but biased misrepresentations in mainstream media are stronger. Week after week, the public is told that the sky is falling, followed by a statistic that shows why there is nothing to worry about. I am by no means a Chicken Little, but it doesn’t take a specialized eye to see that there is something inherently wrong with limitless consumption of resources when dealing with limited boundaries. Here, I will sift through some of the toughest, most misrepresented reports on environmental issues that are weekly spectacles gracing our major news outlets, while also covering some wonderful methods from urban farming to how to become more “eco-conscious.”

The heated battle over environmental policy has spiraled out of control, pitting political parties into a vicious struggle that should not even exist. The debate over climate change is purely a farce — and the manifestation of lobbying groups protecting their unsustainable practices — for peer-edited scientific articles are pouring out, all coming to the same conclusion. But this is for another time. Check back next week, there are bound to be some new posts including “An Introduction to Global Warming and How It Is Anthropogenic.”
